Getting an Agent
Fresh Ink: Hull Playwriting Festival 2024

Talk: Getting Writers an Agent

With Giles Smart, United Agents

How do I find the right agent for me, as a writer?

In this talk, we’ll be joined by Giles Smart from United Agents who represents playwrights such as Tallulah Brown, Jude Christian, Afsaneh Gray, Deborah McAndrew, Ben Weatherill and Hull’s very own Maureen Lennon, among others.

In this informal conversation, we’ll explore what agents look for in writing clients, how to approach an agency and how to get the most out of your search.

This talk will be followed by a Q&A and will conclude in time for participants to make it to Stage@TheDock for the keynote speech with David Byrne.
