Introduction to Theatre Marketing Workshop
Do target audiences keep you up at night? Rather learn Klingon than craft a marketing plan? Then our Introduction to Theatre Marketing Workshop is for you: a quickstart guide to promoting your work, from defining your target audience and developing your brand to creating content and approaching the press.
This free introductory workshop, at our rehearsal space, Darley’s, is aimed at Hull-based companies and individuals who find themselves tasked with reaching an audience, but who don’t have a background in marketing or PR.
It focuses strategy rather than specific tactics, giving you an overview of what to think about before you start promoting your work to an audience and includes various practical exercises to begin exploring such ideas.
The afternoon session will cover:
- Target audiences
- Branding
- Video and photography
- Social media
- Press
- Advertising
- Websites
- Touring
This interactive workshop is led by Jamie Potter, audience development manager at Middle Child, who will share his own insights from working for Middle Child since 2015. It will cover not only campaigns for specific shows but also longer term strategies, with the opportunity to sketch an outline plan for any current or upcoming activity you may have and receive feedback from Jamie.
