Bellaray is a theatremaker from London. Recently she was Josette Bushell-Mingo OBE’s assistant director for Pegasus Opera’s ‘Toutes Les Femmes’ and the Jerwood assistant director on ‘The Homecoming’ at The Young Vic, directed by Matthew Dunster. Bellaray directed ‘In Heat’ by Sadhbh Malin at Dublin Fringe Festival last year and is due to direct for Hatch and Scratch as part of Peckham Fringe in May 2024.
From 2022 – 2023 Bellaray was co- writer and dramaturg for The Abbey Theatre, Dublin’s community project collaborating with Dolphin Barn Young Women’s Group which was presented on The Abbey Theatre stage.
In 2023 Bellaray produced the Middle Child and Milk Presents production: ‘Modest’, which toured around the UK and The Kiln, London. And produced the Ireland tour of ‘The Perfect Immigrant’ by Sam Yakura. Previously, Bellaray has worked as Weft associate producer for the Dublin Fringe Festival and as an assistant producer at the Bridge Theatre, London.
Bellaray graduated from the Playwriting MFA at The Lir, Trinity College Dublin in 2021. DOG SHIT written by Bellaray will be having a short run at Theatre503 in July 2024.
