Our development programme offers a range of opportunities for theatre makers and wannabe theatre makers throughout the year, as part of our commitment to making Hull a place where people can make a living from working in theatre.
Theatre Library
A collection of over 2,000 scripts and theatre reference books, available free-to-borrow for any resident of Hull and the East Riding. We also host regular events, including Library Talks and a monthly Book Club.
Use our space
We are based in the Bond 31 warehouse on High Street in Hull, where our rehearsal space, writing room and hot desking space are all free to use, subject to availability. Find out more about our facilities and get in touch to book a room.
Fresh Ink
Fresh Ink is a new playwriting festival, coming to Hull in the summer of 2024. We are currently looking to commission six writers, from a range of ages and experience, to write six new plays of varying lengths.
Jobs and casting calls
Any vacancies to work with Middle Child, including casting calls for open auditions, will be shared to this page. We often also post auditions direct to Spotlight, where we are looking for specific skillsets.
Support our work
Middle Child Mates is our pay what you can supporters’ scheme, for fans of our work to make a monthly financial contribution in support of various activities, for both audiences and theatre makers.
